Overview

What this program does

The Freshman Representative program exists to connect first-year NSBE members with the chapter's E-board and leadership, keeping them informed and engaged so they stick with the club and eventually step into leadership roles themselves. Freshmen reps are chosen to lead the Freshmen Shadowing Initiative (FSI), a freshman-run group that mirrors the chapter's E-board structure, where they organize meetings, delegate to small committees, and relay information between FSI and the E-board. Over the course of a typical semester, reps work within the Memebership Zone alongside the VP and Membership Chair to plan early, meaningful FSI events — fundraisers, recruting drives, and bonding activities — that build community and draw freshmen deeper into the NSBE family.

Current initiatives

Our Freshmen Representatives are focused on strengthening the connection between the E-board and first-year members through the Membership Zone, working alongside the Vice President and Membership Chair to recuit and retain freshman involvemnt in chapter activities.

Key initiatives include keeping the first-years informed on upcoming meetings, events, and leadership opportunities, encouraging both current members and interested non-members to stay engaged with the chapter.
